Vodafone To Offer iPhone From Jan 14th 2010

Vodafone would be selling the iPhone in the UK in early 2010, but most of the people didn’t know is how early the carrier would be selling it. Reports have filtered in that the magical date will be set for January 14th 2010 which is less than a month away. Vodafone is preparing its network for the inevitable additional demand of data that iPhone users will use. The pricing offered by Vodafone seems to match similar offerings from O2 and Orange.
One thing users will want to take note is that data usage for both consumer and business contracts will be capped at 1GB a month

Steve Jobs has hopes for the iPhone and plans to capture 1 % of the mobile market which may seem small, but it is not as 1 billion handsets were sold last year which would mean 10 million iPhones, not to mention that it is an expensive phone at $ 499.


Top 5 technical drawbacks of the iPhone



  • 2 Megapixel camera - Apple put all the latest stuff from accelerometers to light sensors then why it stick to only 2 Megapixel sensor when its main rival the Nokia N95 sports a 5 Megapixel camera.

  • Battery Life - It is obvious that when we have the slimmest smartphone with a huge touchscreen battery life is going to be a problem. 5 hours of talktime is not the lowest in the class as it still beats the Motorola Q but it will surely be a turn off for heavy users.

  • No Expansion slot - 8 GB is a lot of memory but sometimes cant get enough of it as we wont be deleting "Lost" to accomodate some new movie this is when a Memory card comes in the picture

  • No 3G - it does has EDGE and Wi-Fi but adding UMTS or HSCSD would not hurt either.

  • Non Removable battery - Apple's tradition of non-removable battery continues with the iPhone.

Accessories:
Now, Apple announced a Bluetooth headset that work with the iPhone, as well as new headphones which incorporate a small white box in the middle of the cord. The box has a built-in microphone and a switch to answer and hang up phone calls.
The phone is expected to bring out in June 2007 in USA, Europe in the fourth QTR and Asia in 2008 and this will be available exclusively on Cingular for $499 on a two-year contract for the 4GB version and $599 for the 8GB version.

Built-in Sensors:
iPhone incorporates an accelerometer, that detects when a user switches from holding the phone in landscape to portrait mode, and automatically updates the image on screen to fit the mode. The sensors detect when we put the iPhone near phone, and automatically shuts off the display screen until move it away to save on battery power. An ambient light sensor automatically adjusts the screen's brightness to the best level for the current ambient light, which increases your experience and saves on battery power.

when Apple launched its iPhone at Macworld 2007, the tech world hasn't stopped asking questions. Because Apple has kept many iPhone details under wraps for a long time.Is the iPhone attractive?? yes. Is it easy to use?sure.is it live up to the stratospheric hype? Not so much. Don't get us wrong, the iPhone is a lovely and easy to handle device with a sleek interface, top-notch music and video features, and beautiful designs. The touch screen is very easy to use, and the multimedia performs also very well.
Eldar Murtazin, an insider, said the next generation iPhone has recently been slated for production by Foxconn, Apple's Taiwanese iPhone manufacturer, putting the handset right in line for a June release.
